St. Luke’s Episcopal Health Charities does not generally seek funding directly from the community to bolster its philanthropic efforts, but outlined below is an opportunity to support The Charities’ outreach in the community. For more information about these opportunities, please contact us.
The Bishop’s Leadership Council
The Bishop’s Leadership Council was founded to provide St. Luke’s Episcopal Health Charities with long-term support and broad-based advocacy of its mission to advance community health: body, mind and spirit.
Membership in the Council
Members of the Council pledge to give a minimum of $500 each year for a five-year period or make a gift of $2500. Gifts are invested as a portion of The Charities endowment during the initial five-year period so both the principal and interest accumulate to enhance the size of each gift. At the end of the five-year period the earnings are collectively applied to the highest priorities identified through The Charities’ needs and assessment process and affirmed by the Council.
How the Council Supports The Charities’ Mission
This year, the Council allocated available earnings to three programs that will further advance The Charities’ community outreach: 1) $17,250 for Project Safety Net maintenance expenditures; 2) $12,750 for Congregational Health Ministries capacity building programs; and 3) $15,000 for the Near Northside Healthy Neighborhood Initiative.
