Our Grantees Transform Lives
The Charities supports and helps to sustain 365 nonprofit community agencies through not only grantmaking funds, but also by building capacity within these nonprofit agencies and convening successful collaborations with multiple organizations and the individuals representing them. Guided by its mission of "Advancing Community Health: Body, Mind & Spirit," the Charities has awarded 1,649 grants totaling $82 million and has touched approximately 14 million lives within the 57-county mission field. Eighty percent of the Charities $5.5 million annual budget is awarded via grants. In addition, the Charities has been successful in leveraging an additional $35 million from other regional and national funding sources in support of broader community-based initiatives. The Charities funds 72 percent of its grants to programs aiding children and families, 23 percent to those meeting the basic needs of adults and 5 percent to those caring for senior citizens within the community.
